Engineering a Better World at UCLA
Our Mission
Our mission is to support community driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects. Our vision includes a world in which communities have the capacity to meet their basic human needs. We believe this can be best achieved by focusing on the intersection of international collaboration and strong engineering principles.
First Three Target Projects
Sanitation - Water Access - Digital Library
Sanitation
Our most crucial and capital-intensive project involves the construction of an 8-hole manual flush latrine, accompanied by an underground septic tank. Our objective is to build these modern and hygienic latrines in order to improve accessibility and use safety at Ganda Garada Elementary School. systems in public primary schools
Water Access
In addition to our pit latrine, we will be installing a water tank to supply clean water for manual flushing, hand washing, and drinking purposes. The procurement and installation of this tank will require only a small portion of our budget.
Digital Learning
The final phase of our project involves the procurement and installation of Wi-Fi and digital resources throughout the primary school, as well as providing consultation on suitable resources and best practices for digital learning. This initiative will be carried out in collaboration with the Ustaz Abdullatif Family Memorial Foundation and will not require any additional funding.
